valentines day brief

Red Tomato wanted to begin their 2017 marketing campaign with something that was sure to be remembered. Last year we celebrated our 10th Birthday, what could we celebrate this year? Our clients!

We thought of a timely event – Valentine’s Day to launch this campaign. We thought sending a traditional mailer would be the best way to surprise and delight our clients. At the same time our mailer went out, we sent an e-mail driving people to a Valentine’s Day landing page, where a free gift of a mug filled with Red Tomato branded chocolates could be claimed.

These gifts were hand delivered where possible. We thought it was a fantastic way to mix online marketing and promotional merchandise – we had great success.

Grand Final Day Brief

Last year, Red Tomato decided to take Grand Final day as an excuse to promote ourselves and send our lovely clients branded Red Tomato footballs. OBrien Real Estate loved the idea and approached Red Tomato with the idea of using the AFL grand final as a timely excuse to draw more people to their auction. As grand final day is the unofficial public holiday of the nation, drawing people to these auctions can be a bit of a challenge.

Our merchandise was paired with a very clever Facebook video. Styled like the footy show, OBrien’s Sam Hartrick and Byron Kerr Wrap created a video talking about the upcoming auctions and the footy promotion which was to take place. The video got 1.5 thousand views, as well as 40 reactions. Not only did their Facebook video receive a grand audience, but their auctions did too. The perfect example of how promotional merchandise and social media go hand in hand.

“Having worked with both Red Tomato & Jes for the last 4-5 years, we knew that the team would be able to assist us with creating some ‘out of the box’ promotions. We enlisted the help of Red Tomato for our AFL Finals Promotions throughout the months of September & October. The kid sized footys were received fantastically at our Auctions & Opens with both parents & kids alike having an absolute ball. We are already in planning to expand our promotions this year and will be enlisting the help of both Jes & Red Tomato again. Thanks again team.” Greg Brydon | Media & Marketing Manager.

For our 10 year anniversary, we decided that we needed to recreate our brand image as it was becoming outdated. This marketing campaign took place over two months and incorporated a range of techniques including marketing automation, content creation and of course – promotional merchandise!

part 2

It was time to start living up to the hype of our relaunch which we created back in May. We rebranded our logo and put it out to our social media fans for their opinion. Following this, we rebuilt our website and launched a month-long campaign for the month of October.

Once we had rebuilt our website we sent a birthday card to all our clients with an invitation to visit the website – we used high-quality cardboard printouts as well as metallic red envelopes to ensure our card would stand out in the mail and be opened.

Alongside this, we also did an e-version which invited clients and prospects to view our new webpage. This e-mail contained a call to action which enticed our clients with a free gift – a branded box filled with a 1kg block of chocolate and a little hammer to smash and share it with colleagues! These gifts were hand delivered by our account managers where possible.

PGA Fiji Brief

In 2015 PGA Australia hosted the Fiji International golf tournament set at the beautiful Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course. The PGA tournament operations team met with Red Tomato to discuss options to engage with corporate clients, volunteers and increase on course branding throughout the tournament. As the promotional products agency that worked with the Linde Golf Tournament, we used that foundation to help brainstorm our ideas for this important professional golf event.

Red Tomato and Christine from Linde developed three ideas at three different price pointsfor top 3 teams at each golf day. 3rd would receive a picnic chair, 2nd would receive a miniportable barbecue and 1st receive a large wheeled esky. These 3 items were chosen due to their usefulness and timeliness in the calendar, as well as appealing to their participants.

Red Tomato also worked on the PGA Fiji International which provided another perspective on a promotional golf day event.
