AVID Property Group approached Red Tomato looking for innovative gifts to give their clients who had recently purchased a block of land in their development. These settlement gifts were a medium to say thank you to their clients.

AVID wanted something that would be useful for the clients. Something which could be used by families but most importantly create a sense of culture and community in their residential development areas. They wanted a promotional item which would encourage residents to participate in outdoor activities together.

Red Tomato brainstormed some ideas internally of products which could be used in an outdoor capacity. AVID’s favourite was a four person picnic pack which included a rug, cutlery and crockery all packed into a backpack which was branded ‘Harvest’, one of their development estate’s names. They ran with similar products for all three developments which were being established at the time.

AVID has found that customer engagement levels have risen since they handed out their merchandise packs to home buyers and are overall satisfied with their ROI on this product.

PGA Australia hosts the Australian PGA Championships annually at RACV Royal Pines Golf Course. With Red Tomato’s
extensive experience in the Golf Industry we were able to supply a PGA with merchandise solutions to serve all
elements of merchandise for the entire event, including the activations of the Soniq Million Dollar Hole, VIP
corporate hospitality, operational elements and Golden Caddy Bib campaign.

Irish Pub, The Fiddler in Rouse Hill NSW run an annual event for St Patricks Day. The event is complete with Guinness, Irish Dancing and lots of green. Each year they hand out a collectable item for their patrons to remember the day with.

Guests to the venue on St Patricks Day receive a complimentary tee which over the years becomes a collective item. You will see people wearing tees from many years ago at the event. The pub’s very own Irish Dancers also do pop up flash performances in the weeks leading up to St Patricks Day, wearing these tees, to assist in promoting the t-shirts and to spruce up the event.

Solution

With the help of Red Tomato, The Fiddler was able to introduce kids tees for the first time this year. By using wearable merchandise, The Fiddler was able to promote St Patrick’s Day as a family friendly event. This year was their 3rd most successful day in history, with a need to stagger the distribution of tees throughout the day to ensure everyone had the opportunity to receive one. What a return on investment!

The marketing team at the Fiddler had to distribute them evenly throughout the day with any purchase of Guinness or Irish Whisky/Cocktail for St Patricks Day, as well as use the t-shirts as prizes for games throughout the day. Our client has said ‘they always are the hot topic of the day so it is first in best dressed when a new batch is brought out to the bars throughout the day.’

Hologic Brief

Hologic came to Red Tomato needing a promotional product solution which would help make women’s pap smears be a more comfortable experience. A heightened pelvis is necessary to perform pap tests accurately and check for abnormalities in the cervix. Before the ThinPrep pillow was produced by Red Tomato, the only option available was placing phone books or fists underneath a woman’s pelvis to ensure the GP or nurse had a clear view of the cervix. The Cancer Council of Australia linked using fists as a booster to psychological issues coming from women feeling trapped and vulnerable during an already uncomfortable experience. Hologic saw this as a problem  and came to Red Tomato to help solve it.

The solution was a small pillow which could be placed under the woman’s pelvis in place of using their fists or phone books. The pillow was branded with the ThinPrep logo and PMS matched materials which has massively helped Hologic increase brand recognition amongst patients as it usually sits on the doctor’s bed when not in use.

The ThinPrep pillow has been Hologic’s most requested merchandise item. A portion of the supplied pillows are also taken to the United Nations Convention for US Health and passed out to doctors who perform pap smears for women in third world countries.
